When analog synths were first made easily portable in the 1970s, they rapidly became an important part of many artists' performance setups, despite the expense and occasional temperamental behavior. Behringer developed their Model D as an affordable, reliable alternative way to get great vintage analog synth sound. Now, with the POLY D, they've expanded the palette as well as the polyphony, to create a new performance standard. True to its roots It was important to the engineers at Behringer that the POLY D retain the feature set of the original as a baseline, but then expanded capabilities in musically useful and easy to access ways. Starting with a pure analog signal path based on the original voltage-controller oscillators, filters and amplifiers, along with a classic ladder filter design and low frequency oscillator, all the features of the original "D-Type" synth are there. The attention to detail extends to the use of matched transistors and ultra-high precision resistors and capacitors. This adds to the stability, as well as the ability to create those classic, super-fat synth tones and so much more. Superior controllability With 84 controls and a well-though-out, intuitive format, it's amazingly easy to exercise your music creatively with the Behringer POLY D. Whether you're adjusting the contour and emphasis on the 24dB ladder filter or the ADSR on the VCA, it's simple and the feedback is immediate and satisfying. You'll discover how much sheer fun it is to tweak parameters on an analog synth and just how deep down the sonic rabbit hole you can journey. Multiple voices merge to one One of the key features of the POLY D is the flexibility of it's different voice modes. In Mono mode, you have access to all the classic monophonic synth sounds, but with the ability to add additional fullness and expression. In Poly mode, you have to to four voices available on once for pads and rich chord voicings. Finally, Unison mode, layers all four voices together for greater harmonic complexity and richer, fuller sounds. We've only begun to touch on the capability of this incredibly versatile, truly affordable polyphonic analog synth here. The range of sonic possibility with the Behringer POLY D is absolutely stunning. With its intuitive interface and range of control, you'll find creative possibilities that you've only imagined in the past. Whether you're an experienced synth programmer looking to expand your performance or recording setup, or an analog synth newbie looking for an affordable way to get started exploring, the POLY D is a powerful, versatile tool that will expand your musical world.
